Each of the above books were then made available to dozens of volunteer judges form the Epic Fantasy Fanatics reader community, with each book being rated and reviewed by two judges. The books were scored on five criteria, with a possible ten points in each category:

Quality of Writing

Story and Plot

Character Development

World Building

Overall Enjoyability

A total of 100 possible points for each book was thus possible, and the books with the top 16 scores have now been named as Quarterfinalists! We had a multi-way tie for the 16th place position, so we ended up with a total of 19 books moving on to Round 3.

We give you the following Quarterfinalists in the 2019 Epic Fantasy Fanatics Readers Choice Awards!

Congratulations to our contestants one and all! The above books will now be judged one FINAL time by two judges each – “FInals” judges which the EFF team are selecting from among the first round of volunteer judges.

If you’re an author listed above, watch your email – you’ll be hearing from us soon. If you’re a judge, watch your email as well over the next few days; invitations to our eight Finals judges will be sent out soon!

Hope to see you all in the Epic Fantasy Fanatics Facebook group soon. Long live the goats!
